10 Months!

"Oh hey guys, I'm ten months old."

Okay month 10 has been my favorite yet with this kid.  He is so funny.  Even when he was wiped out with pneumonia for a week.  He was still so cute and fun, plus I got to spend all day with him instead of being at work.

He didn't have his 9-month check up until about a week and a half before his 10-month mark so here are his stats.
Height:28.5 inches (48th percentile)
Weight:16.9 pounds (2nd percentile)
The kid is tiny.

He's super cuddly all of a sudden.  He never was a cuddler and then suddenly he just loves giving hugs and putting his face against our and just laying on our shoulders.  I love it.  My favorite is when I get him out of his crib and he wraps his arms around my neck and gives me kisses.

He's still taking a third nap most days.  But even if he naps until 6:00, he's still down for the night before 8:00.

He's a pretty happy baby but he will not laugh for my mom.  She pulls out every trick in the book and he just stares at her.

He's started dropping things on the floor to see if I'll pick them back up for him.  He's very studious about it.

He really does like all of his toys which is great but his favorite toys are his socks and doors.  He'll crawl around with a sock in each hand all day.  And if we leave a door open he will sit and swing it back and forth as long as we'll let him.

He also loves to play hide and seek with us.  We'll hide around the corner and as soon as he finds us he makes this excited E.T. sound and comes and kisses us.

Occasionally he'll play peek-a-boo on his own with us.  At first he would just uncover and recover our faces with a blanket or whatever.  But now he loves to hide his own face.

He's started cruising around on furniture but only a little.  He loves having us hold his hands so he can walk around though. He's so proud of himself when he walks around..

He shakes his head when he doesn't want something.  (Not to be confused with his head banging)  We're trying to to teach him to nod yes as well but then he just thinks it's a game and shakes his head no some more.  A couple of times he will also shake his head when he's about to touch something he knows he shouldn't.  Then he stops and shakes his head no.  It's cute.

Speaking of dancing, he can't get enough.  He'll dance to even the tiniest hint of a rhythm.  Including the dryer.  But never fails, as soon as the theme song for The Big Bang Theory comes on, he starts to rock back and forth and bob his head like crazy.

Some other things he loves, are trying to put things on his head, banging things together, and he's obsessed with  cheerios.  It took him until like a week ago to finally figure out that he can pick them up by himself (Instead of just licking them off the highchair tray) and that he should chew a bit instead just trying to swallow them as soon as he put them in his mouth.   He likes when we put stuff on his head so he can shake it off.

He finally got a tooth less than a week before he hit 10 months.  The one next to it has been trying to pop out ever since.

He had pneumonia, two ear infections and was trying to pop out that tooth all at once. Poor kid wouldn't eat, couldn't breathe, had more snot than I've ever seen, he was completely miserable and  he was still so good.  What a champ.
40 Weeks
He's pretty sick of me making him sit still on the couch.
41 Weeks.  This one cracks me up.
 42 Weeks with pneumonia.
 43 Weeks
This is his favorite thing to do when we're taking his picture.  That or try to dive off the couch.
 Ready for church
Playing peek-a-boo by hiding his face behind a plastic donut.
 Love him
 Kissing his reflection.
Being silly.
Kid seriously has needed a haircut all month.
Loves to pull out all the books from the shelf.  It's even better when the scholastic box comes.
He drinks out of the shower cup grandma got him.
Mixing up his Marvel and DC comics (The hammer being Thor's.  Obviously.)
Playing with daddy.
This is what he does when I tell him to make a funny face.
 Sicky baby.
A benefit of sicky baby.
Found his thumb during some sickness.
 Still happy while sick.
Loves to eat but refuses to feed himself.  He also likes to hold the spoon but is baffled by the workings of it.
Showing off his new tooth.

Bubbles

We tried a bubble with Atticus.  He loved it until he didn't anymore.  After the bubbles wouldn't go away he got frustrated.

New Year's Eve 2012

Be embarrassed for me that this is what we did for New Year's Eve.  (And that Jake purchased this game at a place called The Dragon's Den.)
It's a King Arthur quest game or something.

The Knights of the Round Table.
I am pulling out the sword.  Obviously.
 Dan and some weird thing.

Christmas 2012 Part III

After our Christmas Eve party we drove down to the Bronson's house.  AJ was nice enough to give us his room so we didn't have to sleep in the twin bed.  Although if he knew what happened last time we slept in that bed (see: my water broke) then he may not have been so charitable.

By Christmas morning, Atticus was getting pretty sick.  He'd had a runny nose for about a week but it made it's way down to his chest and he was coughing and whining and just wanted to be held.  I actually hardly took any pictures of real Christmas which is sad.  I think mostly because I was busy opening presents and the fact that no one stole my camera to take pictures like they had the night before.

So here are a few of the pictures I do have.

My boys on real Christmas morning.

 My sicky, un-amused baby.

 Playing with Sheri's bug.

 Santa's helper

He was loving this creepy Grinch doll.  It moves its arms and legs while it sings the Grinch song in a scratchy upsetting voice.  Atticus was obsessed.  As soon as we went into the room where it was for the next three days he'd frantically search for it and then try to climb the furniture to get to it.  Then he'd sit and snuggle it and stare at it.

The kid wouldn't even smile with toys.  So sad.

Then the presents slowly trickled open.  The Bronson's go nuts at Christmas.  More presents than you could imagine.  Just when you think you've gotten your last gift they suddenly hand you 14 more.   Hence me being too busy with presents to take pictures.  Atticus slept through present time.

Eli and Crew got some super hero accessories.  Then Crew spent the next half hour pounding everyone with his Hulk fists.  I think his little body with that mask was the funniest thing all day.
 Eli's Spiderman pose
This is Dan in the "dead body" bag our highway patrolman/SWAT team brother-in-law, Wyatt, brought for all the trash.
That's it.  That's seriously all the pictures I have.  I don't know idea what was wrong with me.

My favorites of the day...
Crew's mask
Atticus' nervous reaction to the bouncer seat Grandma Nae got him (seriously, where are the pictures?)
Eli asking Atticus if he remembered him from Gardner Village
The 17 sticky buns I ate from Renee's wonderful Christmas breakfast
Dan's grandma saying "Dink"
The "bad egg" breakfast casserole
Sharing embarrassing moments (and not being required to share mine)
Peppermint Oreo balls
Finally getting to hold baby Lydia, as the last time I saw her I was sick.
Not Dan's new machete
My new, fuzzy on the inside, leggings
Discussing the practicality of bottling weeds

Merry Christmas!

Christmas 2012 Part II

I literally just went through more than 200 pictures all to do with this post.

Christmas Eve is the best day of the year.  We mostly just take it easy through the day (at my parent's house this year as we had come down the day before) and then that night we have our big party with the Williams bunch.  Dinner, talents shows, nativity, Santa, presents.  I feel (as usual) that I'll just tell the story along with the pictures.

Playing with grandpa's nutcrackers.
I swear these two look like brother and sister.
This gingerbread house is a hit with the grandkids.
 The best nutcracker.
He spent the better part of the morning watching birds.
Then we went to the Eldredge Manor for a little photoshoot.  It is very hard to take a picture of a nine month old when you've set your shutter speed slow.  Also, seconds after the diaper came off he peed everywhere.
Looking out at the fresh snow and watching for Santa
Then we went to visit Grandma Stella, but by the time we got to Granny's house, Atticus was completely out.
Let the Christmas Eve-ing begin.
Dan and Jonah waiting for things to start.
 Grandpa and Kyndi
This is his GQ pose by the fireplace.
This is the part where Angel Anna said to my shepherd baby, "Hey Atticus, come see the baby Jesus".
The shepherds were abiding on the couch by night and the angels sat around them.
Shepherd baby.
 The cast

Next we had a talent show.
They all sang Rudolph.  Still unsure how Dan got a part but I love Oaklee in this.
This is just for Morissa's hair.
Jonathan's cute family sang us a song.
 Sweet little Anna...
 ...and Jonah
They all paused for Jonah to sing his part (I believe they were singing Away in a Manger and Jonah was to say the very last word, hay.)  Instead, he did this face and ran away.
Oaklee read us her Uu book from kindergarten.
Jimmy sang us a glorious song.  For the full version, click here.
Time for presents.
A pony and a unicorn.
 Anna
Atticus still had no interest in tearing wrapping paper.  But give him one of my student's papers and he'll rip it up in no time.
Grandma gave him this phone which he loves.
I took plenty of pictures of the matchy jammies
My dad was amused.
Grandma with (some of) her gradnkids
Yep.  This is what my parents gave my husband.  He saw it in a store in Sun Valley and kept playing with it. I'm married to a child.
 Loved the puppy.
Then Santa came.
We sang Jingle Bells and Santa stuck this nose on Dayton.  Dayton was not amused.
Atticus was the first to be called to sit on Santa's lap.
I'm unsure how to classify his reaction.
Enchanted by Santa Claus
More matchy jammies.  Staring up at Santa.
Cute Dayton
 Up WAY past bedtime.
Santa brought all the big boys nerf guns.  The second we were done singing Silent Night with Santa and he had walked out, this is how the next ten minutes went down.
My dad
 Tate
 Kam and Tyson
Jonathan

James was too well hidden for pictures but here's Dan again.
All the while Jen cleaned up...
and Oaklee hid under the table.

Love my family.
