Rock Climbing

So now that we are living in the non-mountainous state of Massachusetts, we've bought a kid-sized harness and have goals to get Jonny and Atticus climbing rocks.  We were able to go a handful of times to a dinky little wall in August and September after getting the harness.  Each time, Jonny and Atticus were so excited to go and then had to be talked through their hysteria during their turn. But they were also tough and I was proud of them for trying (through their tears), even when I would have to get grumpy with them to snap them back into focusing and not panicking.
Testing out the new harness at home.
She insisted on the outfit.
Getting geared up.
Showing that the rope will hold him.
They would start out by jumping like frogs against the wall so they could trust the rope and get used to everything.  It was Atticus' favorite part and really as far as Jonny ever got.
Watching Yeah-Yeah
After he climbed as high as he dared, Dan decided to pull him the rest of the way up so he could learn to trust the rope.  It was the saddest, most hilarious thing.
Jonny's up.
My favorite of her.
Putting on a brave face once she got off the wall.
All done for the day.
Another day, another try, another practical outfit.
This was the third time we went.
Tear tracks through the dirt.
Atticus took some pictures of me
Dan's climbing outfit.
We are so hardcore.

Last Days of Summer

We enjoyed our last few weeks of summer, taking it easy, oh, and buying a house and moving again.  Because that's what we do.
Covered in dirt.
Atticus loves looking for cool cars so he was thrilled at this dealership with all their awesome cars.
Jonny, too.
She loves when I wear this skirt.
Where we ended up on a Sunday walk.
Naptime with my hams.
While packing to move we found my nasty redneck teeth.
They love each other.
Zombie attack!
They had a slumber party for our last night in our Newton house.
New house in Dedham!
Breakfast on the stoop.
Had to go register Atticus for kindergarten.  Sad face.
Our house is at the end of a long road/driveway.  So they're able to ride around with no worries of people or cars.
She insists on sitting in his lap when he reads to her.
Adventures in 2-year-olds.  At least she had thought to put on clean underwear that morning.  Even if she didn't take the old ones off.
Three cheers for a yard and a fire pit!
Our property is all that forest back there, too (that backs up to border Boston) but we never go back there, because ticks.
Keeping entertained.
Watching for friends to show up.
I'm obsessed with her in this dress.
They come into my room every morning and fight over who gets to be next to me.  And then they "snuggle" me.
Just loving on Knicole.
On our last night before school started, our backyard cookout got rained out.  So we improvised.
