The Christmassing Things 2015 (Pt 2)

More Christmas pictures!

My parents throw a great Christmas Eve party.  This year Atticus and I were wise men and Jonny was an angel.
My dad went crazy and switched up our nativity a few years ago and now everyone has to participate, with name tags and everything.
Dayton (looking very authentic)
Oaklee
Jimmy and Madi.  And Madi's sheep.
Avery
Reading our lines.  We are very official.
Jonathan and his family joined us via skype.
And this picture is wonderful.
Santa always comes.  This is Atticus watching him sketchily.
He asked for "a control car and a castle".
My parents.
For the talent portion of the evening Jameson performed one of Ross' keyboard pieces
Atticus did some dancing and told some jokes.
When we got home that night, I woke Atticus up to set out cookies for Santa and he was not happy.  He was so tired and confused.  When I explained what we were doing, he mostly just cried and then thought I'd told him to drink the milk so cried while he tried to do that.  It was kind of funny.
Visions of sugarplums.
Waiting to see if Santa came on Christmas morning.
Checking.
She was amazed by everything.
I got him this mini air hockey table which he's hardly touched since, but was so excited that he had his tongue hanging out.
Atticus picked out this delightful golden necklace for me.  It's very fancy.
After Santa and breakfast, we head down to the Bronson's for the rest of Christmas Day where they spoil us with food and presents.  (Thanks for the pictures, Sheri.)
He was mostly interested in his cousin's light sabers.  Never mind he has had his own since last Christmas.
The second copy of Inside Out he received that day and he was still just as thrilled.  "Mom!  I get to have two!"
Star Wars is not to be taken lightly.
Nana Nae and his new hat from Aunt Natalie
Baby girl.
This is Lydia.
We all got clown noses from Papa Jon's "grab bag" gift.
This was found on Jonny's tush at the end of the day.
I don't know how my kids end up so spoiled in the end
She loved her babies best.
She likes sugar.  Atticus had no interest in such things at her age.
As part of Jon's grab bag we got some Nesquik flavored chapstick. Atticus was quite taken with it.

The Christmassing Things 2015 (Pt 1)

So, December happened.  I kind of, sort of, love Christmas things.

Thought it would be fun for Atticus to put the star on top of the tree.  It was not.
This is my dad, defying death to put lights on his tree outside.
Worth it.
We tried making our gingerbread houses out of rice krispie treats this year.
I don't really know what this face of his is all about.
And then he ate it for breakfast the next morning.
We drove around looking at Christmas lights and stopped at this house that always sets their lights to music.  Because they are crazy.
Some Christmas jingling.
Atticus made this cute ornament in nursery.
I took my kids to temple square and it was perfect.
Atticus wrote a letter to Santa and did not want any help.  His scribbles translated to: "Santa, I have been good.  I want presents right now.  I want a control car."  (And then because I said it might be nice to not be so demanding.  "What kind of cookies do you want?"  Then he signed his name and drew a picture of Santa with a green beard.
The best turnout for Christmas Sunday pictures I managed to get.
Granny's Christmas party is always the best one of the year.  This year it was at my Aunt Mikki's house.
Jonny Ruth with Winona Ruth
Atticus was so pleased with the costumes.  That's him as a storm trooper and Dayton as Darth
Jonny adores my dad.  Even before she'd really get excited about anyone besides me and Atticus, she'd get excited about her grandpa and go to him.  She spent a good deal of the party loving on him.
So this picture is blurry but I had to take it real fast.  She was hugging him and trying to attack him with excitement.
Christmas sugar cookies.  Jonny obviously thought it was thrilling.
He was very proud of this one.
One of my favorite traditions is going to The Cathedral of the Madeleine on Christmas Eve for their children's choir concert.
Jonny was captivated by the ceiling.
That weird face of his again.
