Jonny 18 Months

Oh, this girl.  She's 18 months old now and I can hardly handle how much fun she is.
Some Jonny things:
Height: 31.4 inches, 40th Percentile
Weight: 19.5 pounds, 12th percentile
Head Circumference: 18.4 inches, 60th percentile
Scrawny thing.

If you've ever read the story Betty Bunny Loves Chocolate Cake, you will understand me when I say, "Jonny, you're a handful"  For all the calm, pensive, and cautious nature that Atticus possesses (not that he's always that way), Jonny is the opposite.  She is an imp.  She is a stinker.  She is determined.  She is wild.  She is everywhere and into everything.  She is stubborn.  She is a climber.  She is independent.
My mom jokes that when they get a little older, she's going to drive Atticus crazy.  She says she can just picture her messing up his well-organized toys or whatever he's meticulously working on just because she can.  She loves to intentionally ignore me, whether I'm telling her to do something, getting mad at her, just trying to talk to her, or even trying to get her attention for something good.  She ignores me just because she can and very often laughs as she refuses to look my way. She often wreaks havoc and then runs away.  Recently I heard a big crash and when I asked what happened, Jonny came booking it out of the room to avoid trouble as Atticus was blaming her. She is stubborn.  If she wants it her way, she wants it her way.  The other day we went to get snow cones.  I shared mine with her but she wanted to feed herself and unless I let her, she'd just spit out the bites I gave her.
But she's way too adorable and fun.  She's exasperatingly cute.
She's sweet, and loving.  She adores Atticus.  She follows him around and copies everything he does.  She loves to climb all over him and give him hugs and play with him any chance she gets.  She even will listen to him better than me.  A few months ago I was waiting in line at the post office ("Stamps, envelopes..." "You know I've heard of it.") while Jonny and Atticus sat on a little bench reading books across the room.  Jonny kept standing up on the bench and leaning over the back.  I was worried about her falling so I kept telling her to sit down.  She ignored me and I didn't want to get out of the line, so finally I asked Atticus to tell her to sit.  She listened to him immediately and sat right down.  The people in line all laughed.
Other things...
She loves Mickey Mouse.  Whenever she sees him she gets super excited and runs to him (him being Atticus' stuffed Mickey Mouse, his mickey Mouse pajamas or piggy bank, or any number of Mickey Mouse objects, pictures, etc at my mom's house.)
If she sees a tissue or washcloth, she wants to have it.  She loves to wipe her hands and face, or blow her nose.  She also enjoys wiping my face or nose.
If I'm kneeling down, you can usually find her sitting behind me on my feet or the back of my legs.
She loves animals.  Dogs especially.  But she loves to snuggle them.  Even if it's just a picture of them.
She and Atticus both love dancing.  Jonny starts dancing as soon she hears music.  She mostly loves to run in circles or more recently, shake her bum about.  She also loves to dance around with me.  She insists I hold one hand and dip and spin her.
She's not a picky eater, nor is she a painfully slow eater like Atticus but I've had to get into the habit of sweeping her mouth for food before she goes to sleep.  She packs it away in her little cheeks like a chipmunk for hours.
She still had no teeth at 17 months but by 18 months she had 6.  Her two bottom teeth have been ready to pop through since April but still only one of them has.  It came first followed by her two top molars, then one front top tooth, either the one next to it or a canine and then her other top canine.
She's pretty tough and fearless but she's also scared of everything.  The weirdest things send her running to me in fear.  Often I have no idea what the cause is.  However, she is terrified of bubble baths and I find it kind of funny.  She panics and cries.  I convinced her it was lotion (She LOVES to put on lotion) but she still refused to sit down in the tub.  So now when Atticus wants a bubble bath, Jonny stands outside the tub with a cup of bubbles to rub on her hands.
She loves all things girly.  She loves bows in her hair and putting on any piece of jewelry she can find.  She follows every bit of my routine to get ready in the mornings.  She loves shoes, (definitely didn't get that from me) she loves taking them on and off and checking whether others are wearing shoes.  She loves having her toenails painted.  She loves getting dressed in her pretty clothes, and especially loves her nightgown.
She's obnoxious and thinks she's hilarious.  She loves to yell out noises randomly and then laugh at herself.  She also loves to pretend she's a chicken complete with flapping wings.
She has no interest in talking.  She understands everything perfectly well and communicates everything amazingly.  But she has a big brother who talks for her and a stubborn little attitude that refuses to talk.  She has a few words but rarely any she says without it being overly necessary or a bribe.  Even with bribes she'll often get sick of talking and just refuse, or just start saying bababa for everything.  If bribes are working, she'll say just about any words I ask her to.  Her actual words she knows and will use if she cares to are: mom, dad, bye, hi, up, please (This one she definitely uses at all times for anything she wants. "Pz, pz, pz"), ball, baby, uh-oh, more, go, Atticus (sort of.  She did great with it the first few times but then we pushed it too much and she's decided she's over it so now mostly just calls him baa-baa, which is different from her original baa-baa-gus.) she also says bum (smacking her bum), and bear, and nods her head for yes.  She can shake her head no but doesn't really understand that one.  She usually only does it if I've given her the option of yes or no, even if she means yes.  She just hears me say no so she shakes her head.  I should also point out that most of these words weren't in her vocab until the last few weeks.
Talking on the phone.
I found her dead asleep in this hat after we got home.
Little lady loves her brother.
She's such a snuggler.  She loves hugs and will come randomly give them or curl up in my lap.  She let's me snuggle her at bedtime but rarely all the way to sleep.
This was at the Bowles/Blood/Graves family (creepy sounding, eh?) Christmas party.  Jonny hung with my dad most the time.  She loves him best.
Loving on her brother some more.
She loves bath time and any chance to play in water, really.  I have to force her out of the tub each time.  She'll sit in there while the water drains and then try to get as far from me as possible so I can't take her out.  (This is her sucking up water droplets after I drained the tub.)
Love my baby snuggles.
She loves her babies so much.  I got her one for her birthday and she was so thrilled about it I got her another for Christmas.  She drags them around everywhere.
This is a Barbie Jenn Ostler gave me in high school. (she was always very upset that I never had Barbies growing up.)  I handed it to Jonny one day and she was overly excited about it.
Baby selfies.
Watching Atticus play outside.
This girl loves book.  She's always sitting in a pile of them reading or tracking me down with one so she can crawl in my lap and have me read to her.
Clearly she loved playing in the snow.
My little Valentine.
Atticus' train is one of her favorite toys.
I'm really good at girl hair.
There are times when she cries because there are crumbs on her hands, and then other times that she covers herself in dirt.
Beater licking!
Little Bird.
Such a good big brother.
Hopped in his lap for a story.
Doing her pretty hair.
This is what she does when we tell her to do an old lady face.
Girly.
This girl reaches a state of panic with how excited she gets over seeing dogs.  She'll do anything she can to get to them, squealing and barking the whole time.  Her intensity scared these two back into their kennel.
This child.
This never gets old.
As Atticus would say: "Jonny, you look like a dorphan" (orphan)
This is her "pretty face" she pulls.
You can almost see her bottom snaggle tooth!
More "pretty face"!
I feel like she looks like a Williams in this picture.
First day of nursery.  She was a pro.  I didn't even have to go in the room.  She strolled in on her own and when I came to get her she casually walked back out like "Oh hey, mom.  I guess I'll come home with you now".  Photo credit to Atticus.
Shaking her bum around.
It's a shame she has no personality.
This was at a birthday party.  I told her the cake was all gone.
She loves Bear.
Mischief managed.
