Oompa Loompa Doobity Doo

Atticus was so fun this Halloween.  He was very much in shy mode even after he realized these people were giving him candy.  He would nicely knock and get very excited about any Halloween decor and do his scary Halloween voice.  But he'd just shyly hold up his bucket while people gushed over him and handed him way too much candy for a tiny toddler.  

I am so happy about how his costume turned out.  Especially because it was super easy to make.  He loved wearing his costume and even kept his gloves on all night.  It was hilarious to watch him try to grab candy from people's buckets with his fingers all mixed up in some slightly too big gloves.  He did cute Oompa Loompa dances.  The orange face paint was a struggle after he realized what I was doing as he absolutely HATES having a mess on his face and hands.  It took three tries because kept rubbing and crying it off.  (And because I'm a horrible mom and kept forcing orange make up on him.) I finally got him to to let me try to smooth it out by putting some mascara and eye shadow on myself, and since he loves to mimic all of my getting ready routine, he let me put the paint on him.  

About a week before Halloween I decided to be Willy Wonka to my cute little Oompa Loompa and bought a hat on Amazon.  Then luckily my sister had a purple coat for me and I had a ribbon from Sam's wedding and I was good to go.  Dan was indecisive on a costume so he went as creeper clown man.  We had fun and I was really bummed when he had to get ready for bed.  Although he still had green in his hair the next day.

We painted pumpkins a few days before Halloween.  He only ate a fistful of paint...

 

 One time that he actually enjoyed having stuff on his hands.

 Using the force to strangle an insubordinate officer.

 I took him over to the church for a Trunk-or-Treat while Dan was still at work.  Also, Trunk-or-Treats are dumb.  We don't live in a non neighborhood, nor a scary neighborhood, so why must we all go give candy to all the kids who will later come to our house for more candy?  But he saw his nursery teacher and she was sure pleased with him.

 No one could hear his knocking but solid effort anyway.

 He loved this vampire.

After we got home and he realized he could eat all the candy, including suckers, he nearly hyperventilated.
