Summer-Cousins

As always, be prepared as this will mostly just be a million pictures.

My older brother, Jonathan, is currently living in Denver with his family while attending medical school.  He's just started his third year.  I can't think of what it's called but in the third year they sort of shadow different types of doctors for about a month at a time (I think that's right).  And they could be sent anywhere for this.  He's lucky and I think most of his assignments are close to home but he jumped on the chance to take an assignment in Provo these last few weeks.  So we got to see him quite a bit while he was here along with Stefanie and her family as well.  Atticus got mauled by his cousins and it was lots of fun.

Anna got to hold the baby while Jersi fed it.  Anna quickly decided the baby was full.
Jonah climbed in and out about 18 times.  Oh and apparently the little boys of our family don't wear clothes.
I was accused of being the one with the stinky diaper.
 Atticus and grandma.
 Jonah faces.
 Jonah and Jersi
The older cool cousins.  And James and Dan.
They thought this was the greatest thing to ever be.
Anna is showing off her "tat".  And there's a bag of garbage.
So my parents were not home for this one and it took a good 20 minutes to figure out how to put the table back together.  Hilarity ensued.
Megan's face is the winner!
Anna cleaned up all the cards we spilled.
 Story time with Uncle Jonathan.
Anna only like him in 2-minute increments.
 Jonah and grandpa.
I like this one.  Not sure if it's love or a lecture, but I like it.
It's just fun to follow him around and see what he does.
 "Holding his hand and playing."
 Grandma is so funny!
 Practicing his Steve face.
Trying to get a picture of three babies together is difficult....

Oaklee, Kyndi, and Atticus.
 Sisters.
 Best face ever.
 Playing with grandma.
This is what cousin time looks like.
This is how Auntie Sammy handles it.
 CAKE!!
 More of my half-naked son.
 We're a family of lookers.
 My mom is cute though.

The First Day From Hell.

So.... School started today....

I take Atticus to the babysitter out in Plymouth  in the morning and then head to my school.  In order to get there on time, I wake up at 5:30 and get ready and then go wake Atticus up around six to feed him etc.  Well this morning, he decided to wake up starting at 4:30.  He wasn't ready to eat.  Just wanted to fuss which made me getting ready a struggle.  Then he cried through eating and we struggled to get him to eat enough.  (I think he may be teething) He finally finished and I put him in his exersaucer while I ate breakfast and loaded the car.  We were running late.  I went to grab him and too late realized he'd had a major blow-out, (only his second ever) and it was all over both of us.  So we changed some clothes.  Woot.

So we left 15 minutes late which is a big deal.  Especially when you are on duty at school this week, meaning you have to be out in the halls in the morning maintaining order and as you were leaving the day before, got the second new student you'd been given that day and you have nothing ready for him so need to hurry and do that before you have to go maintain the order.

So off Atticus and I left.  Me dwelling on "Holy cow, what a miserable morning.  I am so tired."  Well, I didn't see the cop...  I was going 14 over apparently.  Then I couldn't find my registration and when I did, my name didn't match my name on my license as the registration is still under my maiden name (plus he was quick to tell me my registration was invalid as I hadn't signed it.  Who has ever signed their registration paper?)  AND my address was wrong, due to the move last month.  The cop was in his car forever.  He even made a phone call.  Well as it was the first day of school he decided to give me a warning and "a strong lecture".  And lecture he did indeed.  About speeding with a sweet baby in my car etc, until I felt like a failure of a mother and had to blink back tears.  And then he let me go

I was still about 20 minutes from getting to school because I had yet to drop the kid off, and I needed to be at school in 10.  So I finally get to school and I guess because it's the first day of school we were letting the kids go to their class already and I had students and their moms at my door.  So much for last minute preparation.

Needless to say I was not prepared for the rest of the day.

Oh ya, and I have 26 students.  Eight more than I had last year.  I realize 26 isn't an insane number but 26 6-year-olds, most of whom are only used to 2 hours of kindergarten, is a lot.  I barely got throught 2 hours worth of my lesson plan because they were so hard to get to follow directions and listen and not run around or continually interrupt to tell me they had a hamster.  I also had a boy throw two major screaming/throwing things/running away fits, 3 boys and 2 girls who would just completely ignore me even if I came right up to them and said their name, one girl who I had to walk down the hall with a garbage can so she wouldn't puke everywhere, and one mother of said girl who called me after school very upset that we hadn't sent her daughter home (we made the daughter eat her lunch instead and then she was right back to her usual hyper self)

Finally I could leave only to be back 20 minutes later to get some important things I had forgotten.  Oh and sometime on the drive home, Atticus' car seat tipped right over.  What?  How on earth does that even happen?  The kid slept through it but it was literally on it's side when we pulled into the garage. No idea how long it was like that.

It can only go up from here, right?

Summer-Boat

I absolutely love going boating with my family.  Even if I don't get in the water, I love watching them.  Especially my little brother.  My parents go every Monday all summer long.  I only got to go with them twice this summer as it's kind of hard to plan around Atticus on something like that, and Dan didn't get to go at all.  I usually go out on Jimmy's wakeboard and I get up but then can't turn and just scream in fear and fun the entire time I'm up.  Unfortunately for some weird reason, I could not get up this summer.  Jimmy even got out in the water with me to give me pointers.  I was bummed but I guess we'll try again next year.  Fortunately one of the times I went, two of my nephews and one of my nieces came.  Unfortunately I couldn't go the time my brother Jonathan and his family went though.

But really, boating is so much fun.  Especially with Atticus this summer.  He absolutely loved it.  He'd be fussy and then as soon as we got going, he'd just completely relax to the point of being limp.  We set up a little bed for him under the dashboard and he'd lay there the entire day happy as can be.  He'd even nap under there.

He hates the life jacket and mostly screams when it's on.
 My mom
Your mom can't make jumps like that!

Love this picture.  Especially his hat.
I'm sorry if he's mad at me for saying this, but my dad will be 55 in a few months.  How awesome is he?!

My little sister, Samantha.  A much better skier than me.

Atticus' in his nook.  He was hanging on tight to Jimmy.
 Just waking up.
This is his response when we are going full speed.  He laughs and laughs.  The bumpier the better.  One day it was so bumpy I thought we'd both go flying and he thought it was hilarious!

Keeping that binky in so he can have a nap.
My nephew, Tyson, on his first attempt at wakeboarding.
My nephew, Tate was so tough!  He went again and again, out there all by himself until he got up.

This is him up.  He would not stand any taller.
 Morissa, Tate, and my mom.
Then Tyson got up on the skis.
I think this picture is so cute.  (I'm sure Jr in high school Tyson, will really appreciate that comment coming from me...)

And now, a million pictures of Jimmy.  I just think he is great.  It was so hard to limit these pictures to this many.  He is just so cool!  And he's obviously the most loved by me.
 He does flips
 He loves to show off.
The second picture down there is called "The wipe".

He paused to pick up a tumbleweed.
