Jonny 6 months

This little chick just keeps getting cuter.  And I can never decide if she looks like a Bronson or exactly like my little sister, Samantha.

Six month updates...
Height: 26.6 inches (76th Percentile)
Weight: 15 lbs 11 oz (38th Percentile)
Head: 16.8 inches (62nd Percentile)

She's started giggling more often, (Meaning her giggling isn't saved exclusively for Atticus anymore.  Dan and I have been able to get some from her.) but still she mostly just grunt laughs.  And it's still hard to get a laugh from her either way.  Smiles all day long, not so much with the laughing.

She is now an expert at sitting up and rolling both ways.

She loves to play.  She likes to grab at us and play peek-a-boo and jabber at us.  My favorite is when she sits on my lap and then will turn back to look at me.  When she does that I give her quick kisses which makes her smile and then she'll turn back, wait a few seconds, then do it again.  Over and over.

This girl has no interest in eating solids.  We tried a few weeks ago with cereal but after the first day she couldn't care less.  She shoves anything in her mouth except a spoonful of food.  Won't even open her mouth.  We tried rice cereal and oatmeal.  We tried mixing the cereal with fruit and a couple of different jars of just fruit.  She wants nothing to do with it.  So we're going to try again in a week or two.  She does love when I give her whole pieces of food to chew on.  Mostly because she loves to chew on stuff and then the added bonus of having flavor.  We've done this with celery, apple, cucumber, and zucchini.  She loved the zucchini.  Usually if she drops her food she moves on to just chewing on her fingers or whatever.  But when she dropped the zucchini, she would cry until we gave it back to her. We also bought her those little mesh bag teether things that you put food in and so far she's tried strawberries (from our garden) and today she had watermelon and LOVED it.

She goes to bed and naps like a champ now.  She will even nap in her own crib and even stays asleep sometimes!  But bedtime I put her down with no binky and (in the last three days) no swaddle (finally!) and that's it.  She goes right to sleep.  Pretty sure it's to do with the fact that she almost instantly rolls to her stomach or just her side.  That's the only way she sleeps now.  About 75% of the time she still ends up in my bed because she wakes up and wants to be wide awake at like five in the morning.  She's doing better on the nights that she does wake up at letting me hold her a minute and then put her back in her own crib, but that doesn't always work.  (She's only waking up because she wants me.  If I bring her in my bed, she's instantly back to sleep.)  She also has been waking up earlier lately, around 7:30 or 8 instead of 8:30 or later but she usually just hangs out or plays until about 8:30 before she's ready to eat.

She's off her reflux meds!  (Or at least being weaned off them and she doesn't seem to care one bit.)

Drool.  So much drool.  And then there's more drool.

She takes her binky more often now but only when she's wide awake and playing.  She mostly has just used it to chew on thus far, but now sometimes she'll put it in her mouth and actually suck on it.  I've never given it to her much for sleeping, though sometimes I slip it in as I'm getting her ready to sleep and it will almost immediately calm her down and make her eyes start to droop.  However, lately if she catches me trying to give her a binky when she's tired, she gets angry and pushes it away.  She also loves pushing me away when I'm trying to pick at her, (boogers, eye goop, washing her face, etc) she hates having her face touched except for kisses and caresses.

She is so easily distracted by her daddy.  When he walks in the room (especially if he's just come home) she stops whatever she's doing to smile at him.  She is even more distracted by Atticus.  She wants to see everything he is doing.  I seriously have to send him out of the room (or make him hide and turn his voice off) when I'm feeding her, because she will be too busy trying to see him and won't eat.  She adores that boy.  (Who wouldn't!?)

So she really doesn't look it, but she is chunky (certainly not compared to many babies but compared to my previous baby)  She's got the cutest little leg rolls and I love to pinch them and play with them.  She's also got a permanent chaff mark in one fat roll.  It's so bad sometimes her skin just flakes off, but she doesn't seem to mind.

Her favorite toys are this little caterpillar my mom gave her and Atticus' toy phone (the kind with the rotary dial).  She's also obsessed with my phone.  It will just be lying there minding its own business and she is crazy to try and get it.

She doesn't reach for us quite yet but gets excited and flaps her arms when she wants us to pick her up.  She will also cry if she sees me leaving the room and she's started being a bit wary of strangers holding her.
Her delightful bald spot.
We got to go see Grandma Stella.
Chewing on anything she can get.
This was the first time we tried to feed her.  She liked it for about three minutes.
She watched the last Letterman with me.

How she prefers her binky.
The cheeks on this baby!
I can hardly get her to lay down now that she sits.  She's constantly trying to get back up.

Always so full of smiles.

I don't know why, but I just love this picture.
Atticus is always super excited for a chance to play with Jonny.  The feeling is mutual.  Also, I made her that blanket before I was even expecting Atticus.

This is the day she figured out how to roll from her back to her front.  She was so pleased with herself.
And she's way too cute.
She was sitting on my chest trying to get my phone.  Also, this girl's hair...
She was very happy about this ugly-cute outfit Stefanie got for her.  The bow was given by Stefanie on a different occasion.
In case you were wondering what the Graco logo looks like backward on baby cheeks.
We have big fields at the end of our street and we love taking walks down to see the cows.
They really do just adore each other.
She's always loved watching her mobile spin around.  Now that she's sitting, trying to catch it is even more exciting.
Atticus wanted to take a picture of everyone.  Him, Jonny, and Jesus.
In some serious sleepy distress while munching on some celery.
Her favorite teething toy.
