I sure like my kids.
Atticus loves our little oak tree we planted in the spring. I do, too. Oh and that's my insane raspberry bush. It grew out of control this summer. Thousands of raspberries.
Atticus really wanted a "slippy-slide". He had no clue what it was except from seeing the picture on the box at the store. So he worked and worked, doing extra chores for two whole weeks and earned himself one. This was our first day with the slip-and-slide. For the most part they splashed on it and Atticus would basically run the length of it and then kind of sit down at the end.
Champion slip and slider.
This was their favorite part.
We took every chance we could to walk on the Lagoon Trail.
This is my grandma, Stella. We don't see near enough of her.
Kevas are a vital part of every season.
Here's my out of control raspberry bush. It got even bigger than this.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Jonny. I love the look on her face and the fact that she's sucking river water off her hands. (And the coke behind her is mine, not just some random litter.)
Getting some sun.
My kids love books. We'd already spent an hour at the library and then they came home and read some more.
Cookie dough!
Spent some time at the lake with friends. Atticus mostly ignored the other children and played with his log boat.
Jonny hated it. There was sand.
So she lounged around with me.
Gangstas.
Chasing the geese at the splash pad.
You can't tell, but this thing was spinning as fast as I could get it to go.
More time on our favorite trail.
My kids spent lots of time at the pool this summer. Atticus got really great at going under and jumping off the side. I even got Jonny jumping off the side and going under by the end of the summer.
Jonny's favorite pool activity was being wrapped in a towel and watching everyone else.
Atticus had a sleepover at his Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Madi's house. We made everyone yucky mud and worms for a treat before Jonny and I left.
Hang outs at grandma's house.
Jonny got really good with Atticus' wiggle car. And they were adorable riding up and down the sidewalks all day.
This. All day long.
Remember my enormous raspberry bush? So much jam. So, so much jam.
(Licking splashed jam off the counter.)
Shh, they're sleeping.
Atticus was my last minute buddy at the James Taylor concert. He loves James Taylor so this was really fun for him. And I loved hearing him sing along to Sweet Baby James.
Some grandpa time.
We went on lots of hikes and river walks. This is the Bonneville Shoreline Trail in Logan.
Baby tan lines. I will permanently be as white as their little bums and be jealous of their tans.
Sidewalk chalking.
He likes to make up songs.
More pool time.
On a neighborhood walk. Atticus decided he needed to exercise so he lost his shirt and struck this pose.
Introduced them to Chili's molten lava cake. They thought it was alright, maybe.
Jimmy is my favorite
Getting our Olympic on. Atticus decided he'll be an Olympian someday and hopes to compete in diving and kickball.
Jonny will be a gymnast.
In trouble. (She's wearing a swimsuit under her jumper. I don't just dress my kid like that.)
Caught them having a serious talk.
Bonneville Shoreline Trail in Farmington.
With Avery!
I woke him up in the middle of the night to go see a meteor shower. There was so much giggling.
At Firehouse with Grandma and Grandpa. Jonny was so happy she just kept kissing my mom and Atticus decided to get in on the love. These kids sure have a wonderful grandma.
Atticus loves the cows by our house. He loves mooing at them until they all come over and then he feeds them grass from his hands.
Pretending we have a pool.
Stinky, summer babies.
It's fine to eat in the bath, right?
They met their newest cousin, London.
My son.
Reading at the park is normal for small children, right?
How we were feeling that day.
Summertime!
