Jonny 9 Months

So just a few things about Jonny being already 9 months old.  This baby's first year is going by so much faster than Atticus' did.

She has begun to play with us...purposefully, I guess is the word?  Like if we're doing something like poking her belly to make her laugh, if we stop, she'll grab our hands to make us poke her again.

Her measurements are Height: 27.5 inches--55th percentile
Weight: 18 pounds--40th percentile
Head: 44.6 cm--66th percentile

She's has no problems pulling herself up onto anything and she's able to get down with no problem.  That's never been difficult for her.  She cruises all over the furniture.  And literally, she's into everything.  She's pulling stuff down, throwing stuff everywhere, putting everything in her mouth.  And if I tell her no, she thinks I'm being funny and laughs.  (If that's not a bad omen for my future parenting, I don't know what is.)  She will also climb up and over any obstacle I set for her.  Like in an attempt to keep her in my parent's family room we barricaded her in with furniture and pillows etc and she easily climbed over it, twice.  She's also climbed up the back of our couch.  Also we have cup holders in one of our couches that she's obsessed with and will do anything to get out of our arms to play with them.

She also loves to wrestle.  She will squeal and laugh and go in for more wrestles.  We are not that gentle with her either.  We'll slam her down (on soft surfaces) and roll over her etc and she loves it.  She will often go after Atticus to wrestle him and end up climbing all over him.

She's a bit of a scaredy cat.  Random things with freak her out and send her into a panic.  Noises, things that look off to her for whatever reason, once the way Atticus was holding his finger sent her panicking.  And it's usually not too easy to calm her down.

She throws fits.  Not often but the have started happening.  She will also yell to get our attention.  And often when she's sadly crying she'll say ma-ma-ma over and over.  She's totally saying mama....

She doesn't sleep through the night.  Ever since she became mobile she no longer sleeps well at night.  If she even slightly wakes up, she stands up in her crib (most of the time she's still half asleep).  On really bad nights (meaning she's woken up more than tree times) I finally give up and bring her into my bed.  The bonus of that is when she wakes up in the morning and sees me there she gets all excited and smothers me in the drooliest kisses.
So I put these pictures of Jonny and Atticus at nine months together because (while Atticus' is a lot more animated, they are making the same face.)
Her hair has turned strawberry blond.
Samantha and I took a shopping trip together and were pretty pleased with ourselves for fitting all three carseats in one car.
These two love to play together.  Jonny is always so excited to see Atticus.
I'm in for it with this girl.
She LOVES the dishwasher.  Doesn't matter what is going on.  If the dishwasher opens, she beelines it on over.  She'll even climb up inside.
Loves to plug her ears or have us cover them.
Atticus often picks out Jonny's outfits.  This was my favorite.
We still fight about eating pretty often.  This was a particularly bad one.
 Wrestles!
These two were so excited that Avery came over to grandma's.
I like her.
She loves to put her face over the vents when the air is on.
 Love these two.
Jonny was our model when Stefanie and I were making headbands for my little brother's wedding.
She just up and started climbing stairs like it was no big deal.
 Keva!
She LOVES stuffed animals and babies.  She will snuggle on top of them and cradle them.  She especially loves her bear.
Ready for Jimmy's wedding reception.
This is my uncle.  Jonny took to him pretty well.
 Baby girl.

Jonny 8 Months

She was so over picture time.
So this little girl is 8 months old and has finally decided to start eating.  Sort of.  She only eats one solid food meal a day, at dinnertime, and she only voluntarily eats it about half the time.  Sometimes it's a full out fight but others, she can't eat fast enough.  When she fights it, I still have to force her to eat because she wakes up crying and hungry in the night if I don't.  Also, the chick still has no teeth.  My poor kids will be in third grade by the time they start losing their baby teeth.  Another feeding miracle, she took a bottle.  She stopped taking bottles at two months and has refused every time since.  Then just one of the times I randomly tried, she took it from me and sucked it down like it was nothing.  Huzzah!

She started crawling this month and she pulls herself up to everything!  She's kind of freaking me out with how mobile she is.  I fear she's going to be a bit mischievous.  And of course, now that she's mobile, she's a total stink when it comes to bedtime.  I've had her trained up since birth to be put to bed sleepy and then fall asleep on her own.  Now every time I lay her down she pops right back up again all smiles, like it's some kind of game.  So I have to rock her, which she lately doesn't like either so she screams and cries and tries to push herself away from me.  Basically I wrestle her until she passes out and even then she'll often continue crying or fighting so I keep rocking until all movement stops and most of the time she still pops right back up as soon as I lay her down.  Even if she's still sleeping.  So it takes three or four of these cycles before she stays asleep in her crib.  There have also been many nights lately that she wakes herself up because it seems every time she even moves, it makes her yell/cry which wakes her up.  She's spent a lot of time snuggled up next to me in my bed lately.  And then I forgive her because she's so cute.

She is obsessed with baths and water.  She will fight whatever's holding her back to get to it.  And then she will commence to splashing with vigor!

She holds her ear when she's nursing and it's adorable.  Either that or she'll find my hair to play with, which I super love because Atticus also loves to play with my hair when he's sleepy.  Another thing she's been doing that I love is, if she's sitting with me and we're holding hands or whatever, she'll search around until she finds my other hand so she can hold it too.  Even if she's already holding something, she'll drop it to hold hands.  I don't know why, but I love that.
She drools a lot.
Atticus loves to love on her.
They take over my bed regularly.  Especially when Dan is gone.
Still hadn't quite worked out how to crawl.
She loves pulling out the books in Atticus' room.  One of her favorite distractions.
 Chubs.
This was after Dan had been out of town.
 Atticus sharing his Yankee Blankie
This was the first day she ate voluntarily.
Ready for her first 4-wheel ride.
Love when they sleep like this.
Hanging out with Avery in their matchiness
Peaking around  me to try and see Jimmy.
Countless babies and children have been drawn to that Beeper nose.
 Loving bath time.
Just eating some bubbles.  Why not?  She doesn't eat regular food ever.
Impossible to put to bed now that she's so mobile.  Oh and that mobile over the crib, got yanked down by the third day after she figured out how to pull herself up.
 Playing with Dan.
Pulled this off of Instagram.  The way she fights sleeping, snuggles like this are a rarity.

Jonny 7 Months

Jonny is seven months now and still refuses to eat real food.  Sometimes she acts like she's still hungry after nursing but nope.  Hates it.  Hates, hates, hates it.  Girl won't even open her mouth.  I think it may have to do with the fact that she doesn't so much like having her face touched.  She won't let me pick her eye gooks or her boogers, she hates when I wash her face and will often push kisses away.  So maybe me trying to stick food in her face is not cool.  She has started to occasionally give kisses though.  It's a rare occasion, but I love it.  She gives hugs too by just laying against us but those are also few and far between.  She's an interesting personality this girl.  She likes her space (meaning a small bubble but don't you dare move too far away from her.) and likes things exactly how she likes them, but she can also snuggle and loves to play and smile all day, and yet she's hard pressed for a laugh.  (Atticus is still the best at getting her to laugh.)  And she has a great angry cry when things aren't going her way.
How she really feels about eating.  Seriously tried everything, spoon feed, pouches, feeding herself, mesh bags, mashing up the food myself, etc

Eating is rough.
She is loud.  She sings, yells, spits, and growls, much more often than she babbles.  All day.  She also LOVES wrestling.  She loves being tossed and pushed around and tickled.  I apparently need a better video of it.

She still sleeps great, though she has started waking every few nights a few times, she goes back down easily though.  She's not a fan of being rocked to sleep much.  We have to struggle a bit to get her settled but then she'll often sing quietly to herself while I rock her.  She also sucks her tongue as a self soothing thing.  Drives me nuts.
Sucked her tongue so hard she left a tiny bruise.
She's started pulling herself forward onto her hands and knees from a sitting position.  She rocks back and forth when she does that but hasn't figured out the crawling thing.  She also tries so hard to pull herself up onto things.  She can pull herself up to her knees but unless we help her along by positioning her feet in a better way, she can't pull herself all the way to her feet.  She also, in her attempts to crawl just ends up pushing herself backwards.  She can do her arms but not her legs so she ends up going away from what she wants and gets so frustrated.  Cue the great angry cry.
Trying to crawl around
She's started reach for us but for the most part, only if we reach for her first.  Every once and a while she'll reach first if she's being held by someone else and wants me instead or she wants picked up.  She also loves to repeat activities and silly things.  If we do something she likes she likes us to do it over and over, or she'll do something like drop something over and over for fun.
She was too busy trying to chew on her bear for pictures.
We're cute. (Photo credit to Atticus)
Having some summertime watermelon.  Hers was in a mesh pouch and about the only thing I've seen her devour.
This was where she was sitting while she ate and the juices dripped down her whole body.
 Wearing Stefanie's hat

 Piggy tails!
We finally found a spot for her bouncer.  The only door frame it fits on is Atticus' closet and it's great for them to play together.
She loves bath time.  We mostly do sink baths and she loves trying to crawl all over the sink and often sets the sprayer into her face as she grabs at it.
Atticus wanted to take a picture just the same as Jonny.  Best little boy ever.
Playing with her future best friend.
 Suddenly a big girl.
 This is how she binky's.
(I don't know how to spell that non word)
I just love this picture and her concerned look.  Like, "Are you sure you want to give me that food?"
Took a trip to Bear Lake with Dan's office.  Both my kiddos loved it.
 Beach problems.
Fourth of July!
 Waiting for the fireworks!
The fireworks made her a little nervous at first.  Whimpered a bit and a couple of cries but then she calmed down and eventually loved them.
Love this face.
And this one.  (Surprisingly she doesn't mind us doing this.)
Her shy smile.  She does this mostly to Dan, especially after she hasn't seen him all day.  She grins real quick and then hides her face.  It's adorable.
I think I'll keep them.
