Atticus Age 6

So my boy turned six and he is just the best little thing.  I have about 82 hundred, all out of order, pictures I want to post of him from the last year, so I'm gonna.
Atticus really is such an incredible sweetheart. People compliment him to me all the time and I just have to agree.  He is perfect.  (And a turd sometimes.)
This picture was taken because he saw me wearing my Yankees shirt and ran to change into his so we could match.
He wrote their names.  "Wruf" for Ruth is pretty wonderful.
Atticus graduated from our ward co-op preschool.  He was the only boy in our group but he didn't seem to mind.
He doesn't like to do his hair.  If he doesn't have school or church he'll wear a hat.
So, he's super smart this boy, but he still has some words that he pronounces adorably.  He says Hill-lul for hill, Jejus, for Jesus, Amilal for animal, and due to reading it this way, he says League-uh for league.  Oh!  and he calls them smashed potatoes and I think I may always have to call them that.
So muscly
He loves to read and charges through books meant for for kids in second grade.
Obviously he is one slick dresser.
He loves to learn.  One of his favorites for a while was learning about space.  He spent a lot of time drawing planets and black holes.
This is a miracle.  I think this may be the only time he's just randomly fallen asleep without specifically laying down to do so.  (Or while in the car.)
No brother could be better to his little sister.  He loves teaching her things.  Anything he learns in school or just assumes he has knowledge of.  He takes care of her and calls her sweetie in a cute little voice.  I love it.  (He is also pretty bossy)
Just my weird kid.
When he's doing his chores, he entertains himself by singing loudly or reciting stories to himself.
You can see all his ribs and every bump of his spine if he's not wearing a shirt.  But still this.
He was having a grumped-out time at Aunt Jenny's birthday part.  He was very reluctant to let me cheer him up.
More taking care of Jonny.  She was struggling to wake up from a nap and wanted her "Yeah-Yeah".
The boy can spend hours alone playing with his toy cars.  And he loves looking for the coolest cars when we're out driving. His favorite kind of car is a Tesla.  He thinks because they can self-drive, he can get one for himself.  A ward friend let him check out his new Tesla and even gave him a ride.
I love his big laughing smile.
Just showing off all his manly toys fro Grandpa.
This circuit game is one of his favorites.  Future engineer.  He is always bringing me different things he's built.
Handsome
This cute thing hanging outside his kindergarten classroom.  This boy LOVES school as we knew he would.  He is sad when there are days off and loves his teachers and friends.  He also really loves his music class at school.  So much so that he will tell me about composers and has asked several times for a violin.  (He wants a violin most because he learned they make kid-sized violins.)
He is amused by something here.
I adore this boy.
He's picked up on a few Boston words, like calling the drinking fountain the Bubbler.  He is also pretty good at mimicking the Boston accent.
Notes found on my fridge.
I wasn't even up one cold Saturday morning and he came to my room ready for the snow.
He wrote a rap.  The words on the divider in this old binder said RAP so obviously that meant he needed to write one.  And he was SO proud of himself.  He told us the "wa wa wa's" were the sound of the guitar.
"I am the coolest.  Wa wa wa wa.  I am coolest ever.  Who is coolest?  Me, Atticus.  Yeah me.  Wa wa wa wa...."
He's Lego Batman
Great hair.
He got a two wheeler for Christmas. No desire from him to take off the training wheels yet.
I am constantly finding just one random discarded sock somewhere in the house.  He leaves the other one on.

Christmas Day 2017

Christmas Day is here at last!  Santa left Jonny all things Moana and some new dresses.  He brought Atticus some books, clothes, and walkie-talkies, and a note that hinted at a bike waiting for him back in Boston.  Spoiled children.
Their little faces seeing what Santa left for them.
Jonny got a new Moana doll and some little Moana figurines.  Even some stuffed Pua and Hei-Hei animals.  There were also Christmas morning presents to open.  But all she cared about was her new books.  All morning long.
Atticus got Jonny some super hero capes (mostly so she'd stop stealing his) and she got him a magna doodle (So he'd stop stealing hers).  (Sibling love...)
Another newer Christmas tradition I love is taking sugar cookies (We leave them unfrosted along with a tub of frosting and butter knives) to the people who serve our communities by working Christmas Day (like hospitals, police stations, etc).  This year we took them up to the University Hospital to the doctors and nurses who took care of my dad during his stay there last month.
After we had finished opening our presents and taking the cookies that morning, we got to go to the Bronsons.  I'm terrible at taking pictures when we're there.  Probably because I trust Sheri, as she always takes wonderful photos when we're together.  I did however get this gem of Sheri on our nephew's new Hoverboard.
And this one of poor, sick, Nana Nae.  It was so sad.  She had some terrible flu and we barely got to see her the whole time we were there.  Fortunately though, she was able to keep the rest of us from getting sick with her precautions.
Papa Jon loves to give us a plethora of fun, random, and/or thoughtful gifts.  This year we got these hats as part of our gifts.
We had a perfect lazy day with the Bronsons.  Opening wonderful gifts, hanging out together, and eating.
The fancy earrings my children gave me.  I got three pairs this year.  Oh boy.
This was one of my favorite things the whole day.  Jonny was very interested in Eli's Rubik's Cube so she asked if she could have a look at it and offered him her new Moana doll as a trade.  It was adorable and Eli graciously accepted the offer.
Back home with all of their loot and his new bike that he was thrilled to get.  (My kids are far too spoiled by everyone.)
I had to get her attention away from the book to get her to smile.
Please enjoy this little stinker intentionally being a turd while I try and pry details of Christmas out of her.  And don't be fooled at all.  I'm not being the mean one.  She's being naughty to annoy me and she finds it hilarious.
